What Michael said. The slight off-center and twist of the bowl adds a discret yet tremendous intensity. The angle and placement of the fork adds yet a turn to that. This is so strong it almost gets a religious character; mysterious, yet iconic - like a surreal symbol of some kind. Wondeful picture, and fits the title hand in glove. Masterly seen, composed and executed.

OK, I don't usually come back for a second comment, but I have to say that this really knocks me out. The idea is fresh and alive, the photography is technically masterful, IMHO. The bowl is just a hair off-center and that feels so very right...it's not shatteringly off-center, very subtle. The reflections in the glaze of the bowl a major visual plus. I am genuinely in awe and would like to hang a print of this on my wall...it is so very simple and yet so very rich. -Michael

Well done. I fixed breakfast for my wife this morning. I was breaking a lot of things also.

Such a strong visual and captivating image. I had to look a couple of times before figuring out what is going on here... The bw conversion is intense and contrasty, helping to make the different layers / components stand out well.

Sounds like a most interesting book, too! Congratulations on yet another masterpiece. Regards jnconradie
