A Treasure seen through the window of an abandoned
homestead house (1854)
The house won't be there much longer. I've visited
on and off for about 3 years and each time significant
parts have collapsed. Another nearby homestead, that
was gutted by the Smithsonian and reconstructed in
Washington DC for display, collapsed completely this
past winter.
What will replace this graceful descent back to nature?
20th century vinyl siding and particle board
just won't deteriorate in a beautiful and
natural way I fear.
