I also prefer this version greatly...the rule of thirds is only a rule to be broken...it is a question of balance and this image now has it...I also like the...almost selective desaturation...aspect of this, even if it is entirely natural. Best Wishes, Traveller

I prefer this version too Sam as I wasn't sure the other one was a bridge. ;-) Nice interpretation of the title. CJ

Thnaks all for your comments. I could not apply the 1/3 rule as the frame will be filled with additional elements (I felt the the image is busy enough alredy); and I was not sure the cropping is OK with this challenge. Very good suggestion though. Sam Attal.

Me too! That is a beautiful old tree and the bridge is much more 'obvious' in this one.

I'm wondering Sam whether the bridge structure should be a little closer to the 'thirds rule intersection' (oooops... said that word (s).. LOL)... to give it more prominance?

But.... then I s'pose would be PP?.... is cropping considered PP? .. rather than resizing?

Beautiful atmosphere in this shot. ~ Regards Melbob

I'm with Julie and prefer this version, loads of atmosphere and visual interest. That's a magnificent old tree and I like your compositional choice to center it and offset the bridge. Lovely. -Michael

Sam, I much prefer the second version, as it is not clear with the first that it is a bridge. I also really like the composition of this one.

No PP except resize.
Please let me know which version you prefer 1 or 2. Thanks. Sam Attal
