A flawless, classic shot made all the better by not over saturating the colours. Tim A.

I'm a bit late in commenting on some of the images I like, but this is really a stunner.

Thank you Ann, Alex, Olaf and Vikas. I am glad that you all liked this one.
Olaf, I am not sure of everyones preferences, but I would go with "Perhaps this contrast between dry and wet is partly what makes the whole photograph work so well" comment of yours... Thanks.

Like I and everyone else have already stated, this is an excellent photograph! One contradicting thought: The photographic treatment of the rose, with its sharpness and fine detail, kind of makes it look dry. The beads of water then, seem almost too applied? I can't say with any certainty that it would be a better without the water droplets though, as I think they are an attraction as well. Perhaps this contrast between dry and wet is partly what makes the whole photograph work so well?

Photocat, wanted to comment on this photo the moment I saw it, but was too lazy to log-in. Well, I'm logged-in now. This photo is simply magnificent. The best I've seen from you (imo). And for some reason it reminds me of classical Indian art. Understated yet powerfully beautiful --- aam1234

Olaf, the background is an ordinary black table cloth. Velvet would have been my choice :) -Cat
