I really like the color and the lighting on this. --mlynn

DOH!!!! LMAO! ~ Lonnit

No, I wasn't talking about the grid of the subject looking like a tic-tac-toe board, which apparently is how you interpreted my suggestion. Instead, what I was alluding to was that tic-tac-toe is played with X's and O's. What you have here is an X inscribed in an O, if it were only rotated 45 degrees. And that IS alphanumeric. -- Victor
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2004 05:09
Huh? Then it'd be missing the 'c-toe'! LOL! On this board you can't get more than 2 in a row! Besides, there isn't anything alphanumeric about that - or are you lobbying to change the theme? LOL! ;) ~ Lonnit

Maybe you could rotate it 45 degrees and call it tic tac toe. -- Victor
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2004 03:15
Ok, I'll reveal the secret.... I shot it as an O and then realized it was an upsidedown Q, so I rotated it 180 degrees. That's why the angle and shadow look odd. :) I'll probably be replacing this entry soon. ;) ~ Lonnit

Or maybe an adjustment in perspective would be better: shift the camera angle lower (toward the bottom of the image -- I don't really know which way is up, although I suspect the camera is). Shifting the camera lower would have the effect of obscuring the top tail and emphasizing the bottom one, I think. -- Victor
Canon DSLR Challenge07-Dec-2004 12:06
OK. I see that now. However, there is a bigger tail on the top, so I still think this one is a bit of a stretch. After your explanation, I think it's probably possible to alter the lighting slightly to improve the q-ness. -- Victor

Thanks Jeff. Comments on the lighting mean a lot to me on this, b/c as of yet I don't have any lights. I did this with a cheap little handheld flashlight during a timer exposure. :) That was the sophisticated lighting technique for all my shots! LOL!

Victor, look at the bottom of the pot. The shadow and highlight create a separation in the container's edge, where the screw on thread starts to angle down and it catches a highlight that forms the tail of the Q.

I don't see how it can be a Q. -- Victor

Nice image Lonnit. I really like the lighting, subtle yet distinct colors, texture and contrast.

Like the name says, it's a Que (Q). ~ Lonnit
Canon DSLR Challenge05-Dec-2004 01:00
is it a Q, O, X or T?
