* Painted with Light by Lonnit Rysher

Yes, that was a freaky thing - no matter what I did it didn't look straight. If one side of the book looks straight, the other does not. If you look at the vertical line of the book it's tilting. If I rotate to get any one thing in the composition straight it throws everything else off! LOL! This seemed to be the least offensive. ;) ~ Lonnit

I happen to like this, Lonnit! I also happen to like the little window (adds interest and intrigue and, the little triangle does give the image some visual balance... if I can say that? :-) The only thing that throws the "balance" off for me, is the slight rotation
(or appearance thereof)of the book itself. Somehow, my mind wants to see the book in perfect horizontal plane in the image. In any case, it's a very interesting image and I thank you for sharing this with us. Mark J

I felt that little triangle in the upper right was important to keep the balance. This originally was not a pano shot and the book was in the middle. That seemed boring so I extended its width, maintaining the triangle. The parallel angle to the book seemed to give good balance, along with the lighter color.

The glass block reflection was driving me bonkers. I couldn't get it to go where I wanted it b/c then I'd lose other elements of the shot. I eventually gave up.

It was fun though, trying this technique which is new for me. I played around with the speed, angle, and length of time I held the flashlight.

I think the windows, or whatever they are, in the background are distracting.

I like you shots this round in the gallery...I like the very simple and clean layouts of your shots (the same holds true for you pie and pepper shots). They have all been perfectly executed.

I like this one Lonnit. It seems like the book is floating in space with its reflection beneath it. The lighter triangle on the right and the darker shape on the left balance the book on the table. I like! Ann C
