HAHA! I been playin with these catapillars since I was a kid! They come down on a thin silk from trees and hangs and dangles...there are green ones too... :)~ they are harmless and cute! kids can play with them if they don't squash it!

Kaylegh - They're just a type of caterpillar that pretends it's a little stick when it is frightened. Normally, they are found in woodland areas, or on trees. It may well have come into your house by accidentally hitching a ride on someone's clothing. They don't bite or do anything destructive. It should turn into a moth after it makes a cocoon.
