My kids and I saw one of these crawling up our screen door in Stafford Springs, CT. He was bright yellow with long black tuffs.

I just found this same caterpillar in my home, in Colchester CT. Very pretty, it is identical to the picture here, not much brighter.

Some young boys found a beautiful pistachio green caterpillar with long yellow and black thick clumping hairs at the camp where I work in Brewster, NY. I've identified it as a Halysidota tessellaris -- Banded Tussock Moth, according to this site; although the one pictured on this site is not colored as brightly.
