Colleen - Primrose moths have a large range in North America and yes, they are indigenous. Another moth which you may see is the Rosy Maple moth. They can be very common in some areas.

Extraordinarily pretty moth sitting on my patio all day Saturday in Salisbury MD. Are they indigenous to MD or is this a rarity?
