I brought this caterpillar indoors on July 10, 2004,
and put it in a glass bottle with some honeysuckle leaves.
I covered the jar with a piece of paper towel secured with
an elastic. Within about 24-36 hours, the caterpillar
had made a thin, gauzy, yellowish cocoon on the underside
of the paper towel "lid". It emerged as a moth on July 23, 2004. See next 2 photos in this gallery. This was a
small caterpillar -- perhaps 2.5 cm. long. The moth was
also quite small -- wingspan probably around 3 cm.
