To age the Common Waxbill in the wild you have to find feathers from juvenile plumage. In second years you can find a very extended moult or even an arrested moult leaving some primaries, secondaries or terciaris. In some cases only primary cobers. In this case the feathers will be very old and with no stripes. Beware of adults moulting similar.
