The nave and chancel

The purist functional concrete frame leading to the tapestry of 'Christ in Glory' by Graham Sutherland and meant to be the largest in the world. The ceiling is somewhat softened by the timber panels. The chancel is only marked by the ending of the aisles and a different structure. However commanding the tapestry is meant to be, my eye wanders to the many more interesting vignettes to each side.

Some brilliant photographs, Chris. You've done a great job in what are never the easiest of conditions for photography. *V*

(I certainly take your point about the Sutherland tapestry ~ but, to be honest, very few of the more modern artistic portrayals of Christ, or angels, or whatever, do very much for me.)
