The Hair Lounge

Linda Briskin has been taking pictures for years.
Her most recent solo show Photoglossia was at the Skylight Gallery
(Northern District Library, Toronto) in February 2010.

For Visible Vestiges, photographs from the series titled The Hair Lounge
capture dense textures imminent in the everyday
and highlight unexpected and telling juxtapositions.
These images are a reminder that what we (choose to) see
is invented through our gaze.
Play with positive and negative colour underscore imagined possiblities.
Nothing is quite what it seems:
not in life, not in photographs.
