Westchester Wilderness Preserve

This edible bolete is quite common in the northeast. The stipe is reticulated. The cap is grayish-brown. The more colorful Boletus ornatipes with its bright yellow stipe and darker brown cap is also edible. They are both frequently found in the same hardwood habitat.
