As its name suggests, Boletus bicolor consists of primarily two colors: the deep red of its somewhat downy to smooth cap and the lower 2/3rds of the stipe; and the yellow pores and upper stipe. The tubes and flesh of Boletus bicolor are also yellow. Both the pore surface and the flesh will bruise blue, but the process is relatively slow compared with the similar-looking Boletus sensibilis, which instantly bleeds blue when cut. It is typically found on the ground in oak forests.
Boletus bicolor is considered a choice edible!
