The date is when it was uploaded, but that is very close to the date it was taken as I upload ASAP after a photo shoot.

What year was this picture taken ?

I know it says May 2001 but I wasn't sure if that was when it was taken or uploaded.

I remember visiting my grandparents each summer in Pennsylvania. They lived at 305 Miller Street in Duquesne, which wasn't very far from Kennywood Park. By 1960, my grandfather was retired, after having worked at the USS Homestead Works open hearth for nearly 40 years. I remember going to Isaly's in downtown Duquesne and looking toward the river and seeing the steel mill behind that tall brick wall that ran along the street in front of it. For a kid from Detroit, it was like a gigantic amusement park, with all the noises , sounds and smells. I am so sorry to see how things have changed. Those times will never be the same for us as individuals and for our country as well. I know the mills were environmental disasters but w/o them our industires would have never succeeded.
