Beach Glamour

Looks like a candid snapshot of a beach holiday...
The camera and lens looks to be upgrade due to the sharpness and resolution of the subject...
Is this a professional image or an amateur snapshot ???
The girl is posed with graceful hand placement, but looks rigid and uncomfortable...
The photographer seems oblivious to the clutter in the background...
I am no expert, but I would have photographed this differently...
I guess it is a quick candid snapshot...

Digitally colorized from B&W photograph

Wonderful that in those days people communicated without Cell Phones.

Very interesting image! Though social life on the beach has changed since that time, much apparently remains the same! V

Great job with this. She doesn't look to happy to be sitting in the sand! Love the guys in the background in their beach robes. An interesting image for sure. V

Another beauty Larry. The bathing suit a bit riske' for that era, maybe not, but a wonderful photograph and such a lovely young lady. I like what you have done with the colors. VV

I think the original was taken by someone interested in her, but not a professional necessarily or maybe someone who just did not care about good composition. Your revision of it looks excellent. ~V~

Nice candid and a very nice conversion on your part.
The background is to busy for me for a portrait.
Nice work.

No need to worry about sun damage with the plethora of non-summer clothes! Excellent vision. Vv

For me it depends on the purpose of the shot. Is it all about her, the subject, or a slice of life at the beach in the 20's? Interestingly, if it had been an empty beach with only her in the scene, I feel she would look like she is in a recent photograph. Her bathing suit looks like a modern sleeveless dress and her hair is down to her braless breasts. Also, there is some mystery why she is not looking at the camera? Why is only one couple looking at her?

I like the photograph and the colors you choose, especially her bathing suit. Fun question you asked and could generate some interesting comments and observations.
