15 JAN 05 URBAN HAWK

He terrorizes the pigeons
(I think pigeons are the Wildebeast of Bird Culture .. they seem to exist to be somebody's lunch)

This, however, was a rabbit . . and this guy was NOT intimidated by my presence

He just stopped occasionally to see if I was getting a bit too close
He looked at me as if to say "that's enough"

Here's a close up

THIS EXTRA shot is GROSS so be CAREFUL before you go to
Hawk Eats Rabbit

This time last year

Olympus C-740UZ
1/200s f/3.5 at 54.1mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

How come this magnificent image shows just 1 vote? Here is one more.

Actually, I think you may have misread his body language... he (notice we all seem to think this is a "he" or maybe there is some tell tale plummage that alerts more seasoned birders to the fact that it actually IS a he, I don't know) isn't saying "that's enough" I think he may be saying "you're next" Of course I can't be sure, but this is my thought.

how on earth did I miss this one??? What a great shot. That bloody beak is a thing of beauty. You were practically on top of this murderer when you shot it. That must have been thrilling. I voted, but my vote is pretty much useless since everyone elses' vote is a year old. Still, a vote is a vote and this one was on purpose for a change.

1) Looking at this picture, I am hungry.

2) But not because of this picture - I'm trying to lose weight and I didn't eat that much tonight. Frankly, I would be a lot hungrier if I wasn't looking at this picture. So you're photograph is helping me keep on my diet.

3) This is one amazingly fine photo.

This is super! Have you had a chance to see the eagle and it's nest at Norfolk's Botanical Gardens yet? There is a super clear view from the NATO tower! :)
