14-OCT-04-OBSTRUCTION

This is a realllllly OLD door in Norfolk
I think it used to be a bank in the 1800s
Now it's just there for show
The building is used for something else
But it's a cool door & lock
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My son is in love
It's a workplace romance
So they keep it strictly 'professional' at work
Not that everyone there doesn't know, but they still maintain decorum
But someone is trying to come between them
Someone is spreading rumors
Someone is jealous of their relationship
He wants to leave and take her with him
I hope he can get past the obstruction
Beautiful perspective in B&W!
Wow! What a wonderfully powerful image! I really like the strong verticals, and the light and shadows. WONDERFUL photo, Pete.
Sounds like your son has encountered a small minded, pety person - the kind that are best ignored.
I like the analogy - fab door! Tell your son to stick it out - don't let someone else's small-mindedness make him and his partner unhappy!
Fantastic angle.
I have just sat and studied this extrodinary image for a long while...compelled to reach up to unlock the doors. The lighting on this is fantastic.
People can be so cruel ... The starkness and boldness of this shot really makes it exceptional!
LMAO at the EXIF! Nicely done Pete, I like the muted highlights on the door! Tell your son to hang in there, workplace romance was how I found my wife! It'll be worth it in the end.
Love the angle and perspective. Very nice B&W>
So self conceited in its pronouncement of value, I'd bet it was a Bank. Well seen.
About your son, people can be really disgusting, when they want.
Great shot... nice perspective... you made a good choice for B&W.
Great photo in b/w and appropriate title for your son's tough predicament. Good luck to him.
Powerful image. I like the b&w. At first I thought they had locked you up? ;-)
No one is commenting on your comments about your son. That sounds like an uncomfortable challenge. Hope all turns out well.
great photo... I can't recall this bank door, though.... hope it works out for your kiddo.
Amazing perspective, Pete.. I love the b&w used here.. I feel so short though.. damn
The toning is what really makes this shot stand out to me. Excellent.
Guest 15-Oct-2004 00:52
Great angle/perspective! I would have loved to see you out there laying on the ground to get this. ;) The b&w enhances the sense of something solid, and impenetrable.
Guest 15-Oct-2004 00:47
Cool, if not for the lock, I could mistake this for a 20 story tall building
Leo Charette15-Oct-2004 00:44
A very interesting perspective. B&W adds power to this photo.
