Now THAT'S a fruitcake !! Think it's all been said except to add my....yummo !!
Guest 05-Sep-2004 03:17
Mmmmm...

Gads that looks good, Pete. (We have a fruitcake tin, never opened since 1990. Everyone who gets it has to put their name on the bottom, and give it away the next year. Haven't seen it for 3-4 years; yours would be devoured instantly!)

Beautiful picture, but count me out for fruitcake, don't like them. You are a wonderful cook to get all the pieces of fruit distributed so evenly. Mine just sink to the bottom.

OMG... this looks wonderful. You are a richly talented woman. Nice photo of it too. do you ever get tired of all the little "fruitcake as doorstop" jokes that go around every holiday (or um maybe people don't tell you the jokes since you're the fruitcake baker and distributor?).

This looks great. I hear that FedEx are very reliable!!
Dominic Kite03-Sep-2004 22:49
Like the colours, and I like fruit cake. It's all good!
northstar3703-Sep-2004 22:47
Gasp, there's more fruit than cake. I love cake but I never eat fruit cake. My mother tried to tempt me once, she said, "oh it's really a pity you don't like fruit cake. Because if you did you'd love this one." So I'm sure I'd love that one!
Wesley Aston03-Sep-2004 22:43
Most people I know would rather starve then eat fruit cake, myself, I haven't really tried it. Spend me one I am will :)
Jill03-Sep-2004 17:15
Guess I am one of the rare few..love fruitcake. Colorful and enticing.
Guest 03-Sep-2004 15:54
I love the colors, but I hate fruit cake. hahahaha. very cool photo though. :)
Jude Marion03-Sep-2004 13:07
Cool shot - love the colours!
What a great idea - its like Christmas in July!
Karen Stuebing03-Sep-2004 11:51
Now if I had me one of those, I'd bet I'd put on some weight fast. :)

That actually looks edible unlike most of the fruitcakes I see. More than edible. Mouth watering.

With a glass of milk, what a great bedtime snack.
Faye White03-Sep-2004 10:46
This looks yummy! But I do have this strange urge to start my Christmas shopping .....
Ian Morehouse03-Sep-2004 10:20
Send me a piece urgently.
Adalberto Tiburzi03-Sep-2004 09:04
All that sugar... a lot of work for dentists! Brrr... shiver ;-)
jypsee03-Sep-2004 05:42
noooo....it's the green gooey fruit stuff and the mystery fruits and nuts encased in yucky doughy "cake" stuff...
Ian Chappell03-Sep-2004 04:53
Yum Yum!
Michael Todd Thorpe03-Sep-2004 04:14
Oh! You try my patience! I look forward to the cool weather and the holiday seasons, meanwhile we suffer in 100º heat. You taunt me with visions of the holidays!!!

LOL!!! I was surprised to see this in the middle of summer. I must be one of the few who actually like fruitcake. Nice shot!
petesie03-Sep-2004 03:31
I'm surprised because I didn't think anyone liked fruitcake.....maybe I'll give it a try with ice cream this season. Thanks for the idea!
Guest 03-Sep-2004 03:10
Or maybe it's rather a cake-fruit?
Carmen03-Sep-2004 02:39
Fruitcake? I beg your pardon!! Oh. Sorry; didn't recognize the picture at first -- it looks nothing like the storebought ones. And I have to say, definitely go with the color version.
mikiruaq03-Sep-2004 02:38
I love fruitcake (no one in my family does) and that sure looks delicious.
Gayle P. Clement03-Sep-2004 02:33
I like the colored version. I never think of eating fruitcake at any time other than the holidays. It looks good.
Guest 03-Sep-2004 02:31
Looks very delicious! Could you send one slice to Hong Kong? :)

Gary Winters03-Sep-2004 02:31
I thought fruitcake was for doorstops? Whattaya know! Ice cream? I'll have some of that. I'm sure YOUR fruitcakes are delicious, btw...
Readingite 03-Sep-2004 02:30
Now I remember why I HATE Fruitcake (I feel sick)!
Robin Reid03-Sep-2004 02:24
Aha! Food again. And good looking at that. It is very unfair that you don't send samples of this to your fellow pbasers! All this image doees is make us drool! ;-)
Dennis Steinauer03-Sep-2004 02:14
Nice image. Did you bring enough to share? I have the ice cream. (I think I have one of those somewhere -- got it sometime around Christmas '72.)
