28-JUN-04 CROCODILE

when I was a kid, these clothespins always looked like crocodiles to me

I frequently played with them in pools, puddles, & buckets

Now they just hang around, waiting for someone else to play with them

Ummmmmmmmm . . . catch ya'all later . . . I got something I gotta go do . . .

Excellent. Pete, I love the texture of the wooden "crocodile" and the angle of view you've chosen. The toning works great too.

Reminds me of the shot I did for the staple remover.
I always played with them as a kid, imagining them as poisonous snakes. =)
Great toning.

Very nice. I remember when I had the imagination of a child!
Michael Todd Thorpe29-Jun-2004 16:02
Good shot. I like the comp, the detail. I like the toning on this. Very nice.
Jill29-Jun-2004 15:58
Me too me too as I feel my inner child emerge! Wow, havent seen these in years! Ahhh the scent of freshly dried sheets from hanging in the fresh spring/summer air.

Go play...and then snap a photo of the many things you sculptured with these! ;)

Everything about this is wonderful. The DOF, tones, composition and textures. I use clothes pins to close snack bags. When I was a kid, we used the other/nonclip kind and painted them like people. Guess I had a deprived childhood. :)
Zak29-Jun-2004 10:14
heheh, great snap! ;-)

Beautiful! I love the toning.
gary becker29-Jun-2004 03:38
From the thumbnail I thought this was a crocodile... Very nice image.
Carmen29-Jun-2004 03:30
Love the DOF on this, and the heavy patina of rust on the metal; great shot - it has "memories" written all over it. Trusty little buggers...never did like the plastic ones as much.
Guest 29-Jun-2004 03:27
Very nice!
Guest 29-Jun-2004 03:13
What perfect toning! Looks as old as those pins!
Rick Lewis29-Jun-2004 02:54

Gayle P. Clement29-Jun-2004 01:52
I looked at this saying "Ah" over and over. Beautiful! And as many times I used these blamed things as the oldest of six, I can't believe I can find beauty in them! Great work.
Robin Reid29-Jun-2004 01:45
Well done Pete. Excellent image. Too bad it reminded you that you have to go hang your clothes out to dry!
Karen Leaf29-Jun-2004 01:24

I used to put these in the bathtub thinking they would come alive. It never happened. GREAT texture. Great shot..
