I bought several pieces of pottery this year

and a yard sculpture that has to be mailed to me
(the artist's husband sold my piece to someone else while I walked around the rest of the show)

there are two versions of the this colander

Pretty stuff, Pete. I bought a similar collander but was disappointed when the enamel (or whatever it is) started chipping off.

Years ago seemingly in another lifetime I used to be a silversmith and I used to sell at these shows. Near my booth at one particularly show every year was a wonderful potter named Ian and this looks a lot like his work which I loved. We used to trade wares and I ended up with some very nice pieces of his. This piece is beautiful. And as you can tell the photo made me nostalgic as well.

That's just beautiful. Is it functional too? From the photo it looks more like enamelware than pottery.

Actually, I would love to see this photo without the inset? It's VERy pretty,the lighting, that is!!

Beautiful piece of pottery, and you've got it just right; like how the larger 'insert' shows the drain holes; lighting on the side view shows them nicely. Good find.
