9 MAY 04 STONE CARVING

Well, maybe not CARVing, just cutting

We adjusted some stone pavers in the garden path
He's so clever, he found a way to cut one to fit around a post
Just like you might do for tile in a kitchen floor
=]

Changed ot B&W except for the sparks flyin'

the garden path can be seen here http://www.pbase.com/image/28875491

Very good PS work. One day I'll learn that trick. Lovely garden. Looks very cosy from the pics.

I thought "good for Jill" one hand on the disk cutter the other doing a "Jeanne" with the camera!! I like it.

I did this a few years ago.
I bought the cheap blade and burned through about 4 of them in no time, when the right one would still work like brand new today.

The sparks are flying! Seems a perfectly appropriate pic for Pete! Great rendering!

INDEED! It was loud . .and LOTS of dust (powder? sand? what DO you call pulverized stone??)
Adalberto Tiburzi10-May-2004 13:27
More than a Brillo, it seems a Shrillo shot.

Oh Pete I like this..for many reasons. One of course a stone cutter. How interesting and would love to see more...as in you will just have to show us the finished work!

I like how you captured the sparks, the contrast of silver and greys against the intense color. Fantastic!

the blade is one that is specific for concrete & masonry, I don't know the size or name =(
Ian Chappell10-May-2004 05:37
Is that a wood saw he's using on the pavers?? Brillo capture of a TCT blade loosing it's teeth... Ouch, next!!

Very cool! Nice work. Now, show us that garden path! I wanna see... (by the way, what blade did he use to do this?)
(OK, the tool guy came out in me...)

I love the motion and the way the sparks are center of attention. Nice concept to keep them colorized.
Karthik Raja10-May-2004 03:21

Cool sparks.

Great split-tone and motion. Love the tight crop, too.

So you put your husband to work today, too. My job was quater-round for the kitchen floor.
