16 january

I WENT BACK TO THE BEACH & GOT SOME PRETTY GOOD SHOTS, I THOUGHT.
AND AS AN AFTER THOUGHT I TURNED & GOT THIS GUY CRUISING DOWN BY THE WATER.

WHEN I GOT HOME I DISCOVERED I'D OVEREXPOSED (YES IT'S DEFINITELY POSSIBLE TO DO DIGITALLY I'VE FOUND)
AND THE ONLY ONE WORTH POSTING WAS THE OFF-HANDED ONE I'D TAKEN OF THE TRUCK, AND THEN ONLY AFTER I PLAYED WITH IT IN P/S TO DO SOMETHING TO MASK THE OVEREXPOSURE
=p

Wow, look like a mirage! Well done! The rubber tire tracks make the photo great!

This is cool! I like it a lot.

looks like the ocean ripple one. i really like the perspective on this shot. i think it would've been fine even without the ripple filter! anyway, you did a nice job here! looks like a lot of fun. hope you didn't get left behind!

ummm . .sorta . .you ask tuff questions. I know I adjusted the levels and then adjusted the colors (hue & saturation) then applied the artistic filter (either cutout or ripple, I'm not sure which) :P

This effect sort of reminds me of the distortions caused by heat. Sort of like in the desert. Well done.

You did a great job on this! Do you remember how you did it?

Very well done saving technique. The tracks leading to the car is very nicely captured and the fact it is over exposed highlights it.

thanks Jeanne . . . you're right, it does give ideas for another day.

I think it's cool! Looks like you shot it through some funky glass! Hey, this is how we find ideas for another day!! LOL

I have both a polarizing & ND filter for my Pentax LSR, but have no way to (& didn't even know I could) attach them to my C2100 . .suggestions?
wpmadden16-Jan-2004 23:35
awwww, I like the thumbnail, but the PS effect is little distracting
an ND (neutral density, reduces light w/o reducing aperture) filter is great for the glare at the beach, esp. the sand on a bright day. Also a polarizing filter will yield great results with the sky and water
Wish we could head to the beach (2 hours east) this weekend and do some surf fishing, but too much stuff to do
tight lines!!

Thanks, Simon . . .I just feel like such a ditz when I do something sooooooo stoopid with something sooooooooo simple.

glad i am not the only one that does it, you have produced a great effect there, i have yet to explore the filters on PS.
