This Golden Dolphin (Shachi) symbolises the feudal lord's authority.
The first pair of dolphins were installed on the main ridge of Nagoya Castle roofs
in the Muromachi Era (1334-1400).
The original dolphins were damaged during the World War II,
a pair of new dolphins were rebuilt in 1959.
