I really appreciate the comment, dave. But the 'insensitive' comment was directed at the person who mentioned (in tagalog) that "are combs out of style" not necessarily that the girl was showing a digital picture of the children

Having spent a long time in the PI and loving every minute of it I have to say the comment of "insensitive" is a little unkind. The life for 99% of Filipinos is very hard, but the amazing thing is that it is also known as the "land of smiles". I think what James is seeking to say, is the smallest fun thing or distaction from the norm is so very welcome and embraced with obvious pleasure.
