Nice crisp shot of this thistle. We have this on the farm, regrettably, and I was shooting some of it the other day. It's very interesting the way it blossoms. Lateral rows of tiny purple blossoms will appear in rings around the circumference of the head, as if it has been eaten down to that stage. I thought that was the case until I looked it up. The rows appear at different times, randomly. A little prettier with the blossoms than without, but still not a desirable plant.
