Its been a public holiday here in the UK, and we’ve had gorgeous weather again. I paid a late afternoon visit to the South Bank, there’s not much point in going up earlier if you want to catch that magical light!
After my stroll by the river seeing what was happening, I turned back towards Waterloo station to catch my train, but I was interrupted by the sounds of the Sheena Davis Group playing for free courtesy of the National Theatre as part of their summer ‘Watch This Space’ programme. Then the light looked even better as I headed past the bookstall under Waterloo Bridge.
Finally, I saw Heidi. I have seen her before with a saxophone, but this time she was entertaining the passers by with her vocals. She told me she does not yet have a CD available, but with the feeling she gives with her Eva Cassidy like voice, I feel it is only a matter of time.
As Joni Mitchell would say, “and she sang real good, for free.”
