I went down to Gosport this afternoon, to look at all the ships moored in the Solent. On Tuesday the Queen is to review the fleet as well as that of ships from many other nations to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. http://www.trafalgar200.com/
I’m hoping I can get down there for the evening celebrations on Tuesday evening – I understand Southsea Common is the preferred viewing area.
It was quite a sight seeing all the ships but it seemed impossible to illustrate the atmosphere; I think I would have needed a helicopter for that, and besides many of the vessels were not yet in position.
So here are some bystanders admiring the view at Lee-on-the-Solent.
