My mum’s home held their Christmas Party today, and so my brother and I went down as usual, although she does get a weekly visit from one of us. She is now 84, and when we arrived she was fast asleep! She eventually came to, and struggled with the buffet lunch. Amazingly, she perked up when the trifle came and we donned our party hats. Such is life.

Co-incidentally, the home’s eldest resident celebrated his birthday today. Bob is one of the most lucid people there, yet today he turned 99! To mark the occasion, an Irish bagpipe player came along to enertain.
