This afternoon I took advantage of one of those lovely autumn days and took a long overdue trip to Richmond Park .
It originated centuries ago when the King decided to move out of the city to avoid the effects of the Plague. Today, the park is largely the same as it was with deer roaming the unspoilt countryside. Now, the park is well away from farmland, and is a rural oasis within the urban sprawl of south west London.
I was able to get fairly close to the deer, but the shot I prefer most is actually one I shot from the road before even parking the car!

I’ve posted a close-up shot of a deer in my Extras Gallery.
