October 17 2004:
Dirty Twilight

Making a short cut through the back streets of Guildford to get home, I found this suburban scene as I faced the early evening sky. It’s been a mucky day with rain on and off all the time. So of course when the sun went down, it looked as if the sky was about to clear…

I have no idea how I missed this photo, Ray. Thanks for posting in the forum. The vantage point here is fantastic.. makiing the car out of shape and large.. the reflecting sky and homes in it's curved windows give a different, more pleasing, abstract view. I love the endless curve of road. The sepia monochrome adds warmth to the image. Well done. Actually, I said to myself (cuz I have to listen) "how did I miss this.. it's one of his best"... seriously .. one of my favorites, Ray

Such a serene feel to this..the silence of an early morning. The play of light and color, fresh air. Beautiful image Ray.

You've made a wonderful shot out of a very typical English street - excellent Ray.

There is something to this photo I can't describe. Almost as if I'm along with you watching you see this scene, stop, and photograph. I guess it is the angle of view and the proximity to the car but it feels like I am there.

Very well seen!

Dosen't it always happen that way! It just seems like it anyway,,
Lovely sunset shot.

Being rather envious of the landscape and natural light of fellow pbasers in North America, and failing miserably to get a decent picture today, I almost felt like taking a grey, gloomy picture of grey, gloomy Oxfordshire today in protest! But your picture makes me feel guilty! You have made the best of a very ordinary day. Great!

Nice one. Lovely tones you've got there. Great evening for weather shots (being in the UK always helps). I sat in a pizzeria watching the clouds and rain passing over west London. Perhaps I should have got off my arse :-)
