September 27 2004:
The English Brew

If anytime I come back from abroad (Ireland excepted), I really look forward to my cup of tea, or ‘cuppa’ as we call it so fondly over here. The art of tea-making is quite special, and even here I have had some pretty awful cups, and a trip to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway always comes to mind when thinking of this topic.

But it seems that this art is totally lost when ordering tea abroad, at least in a café. It was quite reassuring when I met an American in Seattle who totally agreed with me, as she had been based with the US Forces over here in a previous life and had tasted the real McCoy.

Tea, so very much part of life here.

Sounds like a nice little thing...your "cuppa". I like mine too...except make it COFFEE and instead of a "cuppa", gimme a VAT!!! LOL!! Sweet shot, Ray!

Tea-riffic. I drink gallons of it at work.

Nowhere else do people pay such attention to BOILING WATER for tea - it's a must and why mostly outside the UK it's crap!
