July 24 2004:
Old Father Thames

Yesterday’s shot was shot on the River Thames, but much further upstream than this. Here, I’m looking towards Westminster Bridge and you can just see one tower from the Houses of Parliament on the right. The tall block on the right is Millbank Tower, built in the 1960s.

You have caught the beauty of the arches very well.

Nice cityscape. Black and white was a good choice for this.

Enjoyed the pic (especially the color treatment) a lot. That said, the architect for that big building on the right (the one built in the '60's) should be strung up or at least tarred, feathered, and run out of town. Of course, that's just my opinion! :-)

Good shot Ray, I think the soft monotone works really well.

cool Ray i have not been to London in years, i would have prefered the focus of the image was centered the group buildings in the center, the different levels of the building would look cool

Interesting choice of where you aimed your camera ... a bit unusual so therefore a fresh look at the little slice of London.

What a good shot of the "Smoke." The toning really suits this subject.
