April 29 2004:
No More Holidays

Mayford, Surrey

There’s a fascinating yard near me which is a really ramshackle place. There are a few businesses there, many dealing in scrapped vehicles and the like. I spotted this old caravan there today featuring the obligatory smashed window and oil drum.
Another dismal day so I enhanced it using Levels and Curves.

Interesting photo. You wonder how these things get to where they are.

I love this dreamy, otherworldly effect you have used! Makes it seem like this has been sitting there for a hundred years!

Looks like a job for a DIY makeover programme...!

I love shots of junky things. I thought I was the only one. :) Wrong.

This is great.

PS to the rescue, I like it!

Today seems to be the day for abandoned and unloved things on here. Your caravan, my Lotus and John Lumb's Concorde with its wings clipped. All three must have been special once and it's a shame to see them come to the ends they have. I love the effects work you have done on this, particularly the way it brings out the moss on the side of the 'van. Great work.

Poor caravan! Great shot.

Great PS work! I wonder what it was like inside the van?! ;)

Fascinating image!
Makes me wonder where it travelled with happy families, children, dogs and wonder also what it hides now

The finish you applied really fits this well!! Nice job!
Rick Lewis29-Apr-2004 16:32
Nice the way the finishing hones it down to the simple interests in the photo. Good one.

Very effective!
btw, is this the hi-contrasty-nearly-solarized corpses day? ;-)
