April 19 2004:
Overgrown

Shackleford, Surrey

Just a humble outbuilding at Lydling Farm, Shackleford.

Apart from “Toning and Framing”, I also increased the contrast a little too.

Unlike David Mingay, I crop ALL my images to 1024x768 (4:3) before applying the frame!

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/200s f/22.0 at 35.0mm iso800 full exif

Nice old barn. My Coolpix is 4:3. That's one thing I liked about the Olympus E-1, but Dpreview says it's just not as sharp as the Canon and Nikon competition. Too bad because I really liked the body design and layout.

Beautiful photo and finishing!

Typical runn down farm building! Very nicely done Ray - I too also crop though after the relativly 'square' format of my compacts, it's taking a little getting used to the longer DSLR format!!

love it Ray! You and I share a passion for the old broken down building.

I think nature is winning this battle. Excellent photo and PSing of one of my favorite subjects, broken down barns.

Lovely!

Good grief Ray, you're throwing away 0.8 megapixels by cropping to 4:3!!! LOL!

Just beautiful!!

You captured the feeling well. Nice shot. This building would only cost $300,000 here in SoCal!

Could be a 'des-res, improvement needed' for an estate agent! Lovely sleepy, rustic feel.

Well that looks like it is in Wisconsin!!! LOL!!! Very well done
