April 9 2004:
Cockerel

Busbridge Lakes, Surrey

The Easter break often brings opportunities to us that aren’t available on just any weekend. And today I seized just a chance when I visited Busbridge Lakes near Godalming. I found out about this last autumn and discovered it wouldn’t be open until this month.

Its in a glorious setting, and although the birds were fairly tame, it gave me idea of how difficult it was to get a good sharp shot of a bird as they are forever twitching and turning their head.

But perhaps its quite appropriate that I should choose this Cockerel as my photo today, as the rest of my day did not go according to plan. Sorry!

You can see a few more colourful water- and wildfowl from Busbridge Lakes here.

There are two cockerals in our yard and all winter I'm yet to get a decent shot of them! This is good Ray!

Just look at the vivid color on the Rooster. I have tried to talk myself into a rooster but within city limits and all..guess a country girl at heart. I am not disappointed in your image at all for today:) And they do appear to be posing for you.

How pretty they are! The one on the right has a very majestic stance - like he is definitely posing for you.
