In the spirit of Gary Winnogrand, I always have my camera on, and the functions preset so that I am able to grab an image on the go if it arises. Such was the case here. In 2006, I found myself in Florence, Italy for the second year in a row. This time, I was taking my Mom on her first trip to Europe. As we were walking back to our hotel from visiting a local market one morning, I looked across the street and couldn't believe the symetry of the scene before me. I dodged between two parked cars and fired off two shots before these women were past. Europe's beautiful backdrops always make me pause. Here the wall, simple as it is, provides just enough of an interesting backdrop to give this image some story.
