I agree...this one isn't making the mood of the project....honestly I spend a few hours shooting a bunch of images this day and wasn't getting anything. I guess I was hoping this one would work....but it's good to know that my instincts are correct in that I wasn't loving this one in the first place. There is simply too much clutter going on here and no clear message/idea.

I'm trying to imagine this with another title. Maybe it's the thought of a small child laying beneath that pushes this from melancholy to tragic for me. Nothing useful to add yet but will be back - hopefully with some more insight!

Great composition with the tree rising over the stone.

Hmmmm...does it, or does it not fit? Too bad the building (urban) in the background gets a bit lost. I don't know, I think it does fit for me.

Very poignant image Chuck - nicely done. That said, for me this doesn't quite suit the subject as well as some of your others - background aside it's more pastoral than urban, and to me there's a strange sense of peace (rather than melancholy) about the gravestone and the very accepting inscription. But what do I know?!

Deep impact, good post processing effect, another example of your inspiration and consistence for style and images.

Three short years for this boy whose remains rest under the shelter of a mighty tree --- a truly haunting image!!!

A strong and moody picture! Very beautiful and thought evoking. Vote.
