A happy New Year :o) ...and I would go for this version as well, I do see 'city' here, for me it is a kind of lost suburb feeling...

I vote for this version - is just fantastic how you've melded the two shots together. Colours, composition all excellent as normal and I like the narrow crop which almost looks it was viewed through a rear view mirror, so very appropriate for a car. I also agree with the commentary below that this starts to push the edges of melancoly but that's one of the reasons why I like this project. My only issue with this picture actually would be that this speaks a lot of the car and what it's been through but doesn't tell a story of the person who used to own it. As an off the wall suggestion, I would think about going back to the site with something commonplace like some old tacky, fluffy dice and hanging them in the front window. Or perhaps some old dusty photos on the dash. Not to soften the image but on the contrary to suggest something about the person who drove the car. Anyway, just a thought!

This image speaks of abandon and decay to me. But I am not sure whether it is "urban"... I don't really see "the city" here.
For the rest, I share the opinion of Jeff on the crop.

This is a terrific image but for me it invokes terror instead of melancoly. But of course contemplating the possible results of those bullet holes is a very depressing prospect. Ah well, the city has a million and one stories!

....maybe an alternative shot would be from the driver's point of view?

Urban decay. I like the idea, but I'm not sure about the cropping - it's a litte tight for me. Are those bullet holes?? Geeez.
