Look NO HANDS

I forgot how many milestones are in a 7 year old's life.
There can be one every week at this age.
Riding a bike with no hands is no small milestone

I forgot how much my dad didn't encourage me,or praise me.
I can't and don't blame him as he was a product of the depression.
What he did give me was work ethic. That was more important to his generation than anything else.
It meant survival, food on the table, and a roof over your head
I am trying , with some success, to get a balanced mixture.
Encouragement balanced with enough of a challenge to drive him forward.
Love balanced with enough sterness to teach respect.
And in the end giving him the security to know I'll always be there and proud as long as he gives his best.

What a fantastic catch of a moment to treasure. You've sure got your heart on right!

Lol at Deb. That's the difference in mothers and fathers. I would be riding next to him, also with no hands, and his backpack would be full of fireworks. That's what summer is all about. Fun shot, Clark. To me, these are the pictures that matter. Flowers and sunsets will always be there. Kids turn into adults

This image really captures the intense concentration of the boy and his slight bit of apprehension.

Great capture! After which I would have said, "put your hands back on those handlebars, and where is your helmet?" Sorry, I am just a worrywart.

So much learning to do. I can appreciate your sentiments, and isn't it great seeing them grow up.
