About 2 miles from my house, down by the entrance road to our museum, the ground is
covered in beautiful Mexican Gold Poppies.
I recently learned that these are not Arizona Poppies, which are really Arizona Caltrop and have five rather than four petals.
The Mexican Gold Poppy comes out from February to May depending on the previous rains.
The Arizona Caltrop (Arizona-poppy, orange caltrop, summer poppy) has a season from July to October.
