This is a small part of a map of Upper Canada dated 1832. As I think my great great grandfather Robert "Red Robin" Johnston came to Upper Canada in 1832 it held some significance to me at an auction. Given its selling price, perhaps I should not have attended the auction...
View the map in "original" size to see the details. There wasn't much in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell back then. Slightly to the north and west there was not Ottawa but Bytown. Interesting.
