Archibald G. Johnston, 1850-1940
Identification of Archy was made by his ears. Fortunately, in spite of the beard and aging, the ears remain pretty much the same throughout all of the years.
Archie had lost his left leg in a logging accident. His peg leg is artfully hidden behind the Newel post, possibly. We need to keep in mind that this is a reverse tintype image. So, what appears to be his right leg in the image is actually his left leg. I am uncertain as to when the accident occurred.
