Restored from the original tintype, although "salvaged" might be a better word. The blacked-out portion in the lower part of the photograph was mostly black to start with because of severe damage. I simply chose to make all of the discolored area black as it showed no detail, and it would be less of a distraction. The upper left arm of Robert was "rebuilt" as the surface of the image itself had been torn off. The images appear to be out of focus; however, it is in some part due to surface damage of the original photograph.
