Photo a Day, Day 296...Was photographing the chickadees (one of which is below) flying about when this Jay flew up and kind of startled me. He didn't fit in the frame at 400mm but loved the detail on his feathers and the way they shimmered in the sun.

Absolutely beautiful coloring and detail. Love his head feathers, the satin effect his back looks like and the wonderful detailing of his wing feathers.
Dad says that is one cool bird.
