19July2005 Giant Pacific Octopus - 3647

National Zoo, Washingon DC

Photo a Day, Day 111...I didn't take any photos yesterday as I was packing and then driving to DC on a spur of the moment decission to accompany my husband on a business trip. Of course I just noticed there are 140 shots taken between the shot on Sunday and this one :)

Today my son and I had an incredible day at the National Zoo with lots of "Ooh Mommy! Take a picture!" Even more wonderful is actually having them turn out for him. We have seen Giant Octopus before at various places but their environment is always very dark and there is always the glass which poses an interesting problem... Finally, I've managed to get some great shots for him. Also managed a couple of his #2 favorite animal - the Kamodo Dragon... I'll put more up when we're back home... Pandas... 3 month old Cheetah cubs... Tigers... we had quite a day!
