08July05 Cold Wet and Miserable

Ledyard, CT

Photo a Day, Day 101...
Today we are getting the remnants of Cindy which luckily is just tons of rain however, these four aren't liking it one bit. They have been squawking up a storm under our deck. Typically mom gets really upset when I go out to see them but for some reason she wasn't around and they weren't quite sure what to make of me. Quite attentive subjects though!
VERY impressed at how well the 20D handles at iso3200 esp with the IS on the lens. This was taken hand held while getting VERY wet...
Photo of mom or dad (not sure which one) http://www.pbase.com/cjburianek/image/44189674.
This is the third year we've had a family of Eastern Phoebe's under the deck in this nest.

They are thinking, 'Hmmm, that doesn't LOOK like mom, and where's morning tea? They look so cute, all cuddled up together! :)

CJ this is an excellent reason for buying that camera!!
I can't believe you got that much detail with iso 3200, I impressed and I've always been sold on Canon : )
There is such a small amount of graininess to this its insignificant. Beautiful photo!

I was 6.5ft away (very little cropped out of this). I had to manually focus which wasn't fun in the rain. They live right under our deck so I knew where they were. Other note - I was also using the lens hood to keep the rain out.

I knew I would find a reason to get a canon d/slr, I think I just found it. But first at that distance and so little light how did you get the camera to focus and how did you see them in the first place, GREAT SHOT.
