San Javier with Monsoon

San Javier Mission with a monsoon storm in the background. The sky was misty/light rain, and I think the pinkish glow is from the lightning ionizing the water droplets.

That is fantastic. The only improvement I dare suggest would be a higher vantage point. Somewhere out there is a band that would love to use this as an album cover. Wait, you say, it has already been done? Not as well, IMO.

I really liked the mission, it’s very photogenic and felt it would be a possible location for night sky photography with the mission in the foreground but from memory it seems like it faces the wrong way and there might be too much light since it’s on the outskirts of Tucson and no doubt they light the place up at night. Again nice capture and post work. Paul

Paul - I have a lightning trigger. But I didn't bring a neutral density filter so the shots in daylight are near impossible if I also want the foreground - which I do. This is then 2 shots -- One of the mission, one of the storm .

Very very and a 3rd very nice. I know where one of my top votes are going. I agree that we’re seeing plasma from the lightning strike. I/1000 of a second? Did you get lucky or did you get a camera lightning trigger, my lightning shots are slow shutter speed. Paul

Traveller - you caught this as I was loading it and writing the comments.
Name and date is there.

Re date on the original uploaded file - I have Lightroom change the title by adding the date and a text and sequence them as it imports the photos.
I add the v1, v2,... as I change the file and resave in Photoshop. That saved file then passes back to LR.

Oh wow, Jim you really did it this time...Your name is not on it, but I know that this fantastic imagw is yours...I am also happy to see the title ....20180809_Building_14_edit_v4_CIC.jpg.

Hummm!?!

I also do v1....2,3,4....but having the date...would be important to me...is this automatic for you? I just have continuous numbering...but a date on the image...wow, that would be important to me.

How do you set this?

(I'd look it up, but I have to go back to work...;>{{{...)

Best Wishes, Traveller
