Big Blue

Ft Snelling State Park, MN

A heron cooling his heels in some standing water.
I treated everything but the heron with some Topaz Impression (a painterly look) to give me a different look.

Paul - re Impressions. I play with it some, but not a lot. I need to do more to get better. For this one, I first extracted the heron using Topaz Remask into the top PS layer. I then reworked the background some to better even out the lighting and remove some hot spots. I then applied Impressions to it, Hopper as I recall. I brightened it some. Then as a final, I reduced the opacity of the painted layer to 80% to give it a bit of sharpness. The heron then sits on top of everything.

Pretty good and of course everyone should already know I enjoy using topaz products. I think you've got a better handle on Impressions that I've got. To me mine just don't have "that look" what ever that look is. Paul
